Calorie Counting Website Joins Web 2.0 Revolution

Arlington, TX (PRWEB) February 25, 2006

Described as “a combination of FitDay and MySpace”, my-calorie-counter allows members to journal their food and exercise as well as giving them space to write about their efforts via a blogging feature. Members can opt to share their food journals and blog entries with one another and swap tips, tricks, and moral support through private messages and a discussion forum.

With over 45,000 entries in the nutrition facts and activity database, members have a great deal of flexibility and choice when it comes to journaling the foods they eat and the activities they do. The basic membership is free, but people that choose to upgrade to the premium membership can customize their my-calorie-counter experience even more by adding custom foods, meals and activities in addition to printing out their daily food and exercise journals and blog entries and other features.

“Since I started using my-calorie-counter, I’ve lost just over four pounds and gotten back down to my Weight Watchers Lifetime weight. I’ve also lost nearly 2″ off of my waist,” says member Julie Fugett. “If you’re struggling with your diet or just need a change in how you track your caloric intake, I’d recommend giving my-calorie-counter a try.”

The site was launched in June of 2005 as a nutrition facts search engine and food journaling features were added in October. Since then, membership has ballooned to over 15,000 members and continues to grow at a rapid pace – making it one of the fastest growing diet and weight loss web services. In February 2006, a mobile nutrition facts search was added, enabling calorie counters on the go – to search the my-calorie-counter database from their web enabled mobile phones.
